"PAUL; A Would-Be Apostle"

This Sunday, May 25 at 9:15, local author, Reverend Dr. Harold Littleton, returns to begin a two-part forum series based on his new book, Paul: A would Be Apostle – Roots of Christian Anti-Judaism and Christian Anti-Semitism.

This first session will be on "Paul, the Mystic." Paul, a hellenistic Jew, was influenced by the perspective of the culture around him. It was very different from the Judaism of Palestine and Jerusalem. From that worldview he shaped and "invented" an interpretation of Jesus (whom he never saw in person) that was completely different from the message and intention of Jesus of Nazareth.

On Sunday,June 1, his subject will be, “Paul, Christianity and Anti-Semitism”.While Paul would deny 21st century understanding of those terms, his misunderstanding of the Law and his vehement rejection of circumcision, seen in his condemnation of the "Judaizers," provided fertile ground for persecution, pogroms, and the Shoah.
