This Sunday, March 20 at 9:00 - Medicine and Ministry of the Whole Person – Susan Lefler-Medicine and Ministry last year had its 44th annual conference at nearby Kanuga Conference Center. In this presentation, Susan Lefler, a long-time member of "M&M", will discuss its European origins and especially its history here in Western North Carolina. The focus of Medicine and Ministry is the health of the whole person: body, mind and spirit. Members include health professionals, ministers, chaplains, counselors, interested laypeople and their spouses.
Susan will speak especially of modern pressures on health professionals brought on by business models and the growing dependence on technology.She has degrees in English and Library Science and recently earned her Masters Degree in Fine Arts from Queens University in Charlotte. Prior to producing her first book of poetry in 2011 (Rending the Bones) she worked as a journalist for 8 years as a contributing editor of Mountain Living.
